Associate Attorney
Overview
Shih-Han is an Associate Attorney specializing in immigration law, including family-based immigration petitions (e.g., marriage green card, family preference green card, etc.), employment-based petitions (e.g., L visa, H-1B, EB-1/EB-2/EB-3, O-1, etc.), naturalization, and non-immigrant visa petitions.
Prior to joining Akula & Associates, she worked as Immigration Associate Attorney in a boutique law firm in Dallas, TX, and as Immigration Law Clerk in a law firm in New York.
Shih-Han’s interest in immigration law stems from her pro bono work in the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (CAIR Coalition) in Washington, D.C. during her graduate study at Georgetown University Law Center. She assisted the staff attorneys at the organization in providing legal information and helping immigrants and non-immigrants with their legal needs. As a foreign national herself in the U.S., Shih-Han also has personal experience gone through visa application process and understands the difficulties and obstacles foreign nationals might have. As a result of her experience with CAIR Coalition, Shih-Han had the opportunity to learn about stories of others and appreciate even more the difficulties immigrants and non-immigrants face.
Shih-Han graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 2018, where she served as LL.M. House of Delegates at the Georgetown Law Student Bar Association. She received her Bachelor of Laws degree from FuJen Catholic University in Taiwan in 2013. During her undergraduate study, she established the Asian Law Students’ Association Taiwan. Being the founder and president of the organization, she gained profound academic experience as well as interpersonal and communication skills from participating in large international meetings and working with legal professionals nationwide and worldwide.

The attorneys and paralegals and their assistants at Akula Law in Dallas handled my immigration case for the US efficiently, with care and with attentive responses to questions. Katrina was our lawyer for the remaining few months of our case, originally started by Daniele. Also with Erika and Christie helping us, and despite COVID-19 I finally arrived in the US in June and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you all!

My journey started with Akula & Associates exactly 10 months ago. Came to know about them through a friend, casually called, impressed with their profile and signed up contract for services. Last 10 months we filed several cases and each case they treat like a completely new customer and examine each document thoroughly, advise and make us on top of the things. I truly say sincere THANKS for their great service. I truly love their staff. My paralegal Yezenia is awesome, attorney Toki is wonderful. Yet to work more with GC team, Shirin and Christie, great work experience so far. Last but not least Attorney Kavitha is Great!!! I hope I get the same level of service for me and employees for coming years!!! Good luck to Akula & Associates !!- Venkat C.

We are an IT consulting firm. Kavitha helped us to get critical H1 case approvals and saved employees from running out of status which leads them to travel to their home country permanently. Timely response, dedication towards the work, having proper immigration knowledge, solving cases with logical thoughts, and the best team are the positives. Thanks!- Zuven Technologies -

We are a small business with 20 employees and reached out to Akula & Associates for immigration help, Kavitha Akula, Toki Olowo and their staff have been extremely helpful. They always give very clear instructions for our cases, and yes, we have multiple cases with them and several of which are approved. The staff is very responsive on either email or over the phone; I am grateful that they are around to provide excellent and professional service. Highly recommended!- Sheri
